Darmstadt, Germany – Twyn, Visometry’s mobile augmented reality platform for visual quality inspection, is already making a measurable impact at WISAG Industrie Service Gruppe. From incoming goods to final inspection, the tool helps streamline quality assurance, improve precision, and speed up processes. WISAG’s customers are also seeing the benefits, with satisfaction levels rising even further. The company now plans to extend the use of Twyn to other key areas of the business.
WISAG Industrie Service Gruppe is one of Germany’s leading industrial service providers. As an end-to-end system provider, the company manufactures complex welded assemblies as well as specialist vehicles and custom machinery. In these areas, WISAG uses Visometry’s Twyn platform for augmented reality (AR) quality inspection, generating tangible efficiency gains. “For the past year and a half, Twyn has helped us save a great deal of time and money. That comes down to the added quality and flexibility the solution gives us,” says Guido Duphorn, Quality Director at WISAG. “The biggest benefits are clear: higher customer satisfaction and lower rework costs, both of which are directly measurable.”

Twyn Simplifies Workflows and Measurements
In WISAG’s production operations, Twyn provides a fast visual comparison between the target state and the actual assembly. Among other things, it can detect whether assemblies are complete and correctly aligned. This makes Visometry’s tool an ideal complement to more time-intensive manual and conventional measurement methods. Only when Twyn flags a deviation does WISAG carry out a targeted follow-up measurement using a metrology system. If the AR tool detects no deviations, assemblies can move straight on to the next production step without additional checks. This greatly reduces the need to transport large parts separately for quality assurance, while also simplifying internal plant logistics.
Similar gains can be seen in incoming goods inspection for supplied welded assemblies. Here, too, Twyn helps WISAG save time, space, effort, and production costs while improving quality outcomes.
Twyn Wins Over Production Teams and Customers
WISAG produces numerous variants of custom machinery every day, each with very different inspection criteria and geometries. Twyn is now firmly established in quality control for these vehicles.
Without the AR tool, onboarding new employees would take much longer because it requires considerable experience to reliably identify and interpret defects.
Twyn shortens this learning curve by visualizing deviations and making them easier to spot, even for less experienced users. “The split-screen and magnifier functions on the tablet are especially useful in our day-to-day work,” says Guido Duphorn.
Flagship Project Twyn Set to Expand Across the Group and with AI
At WISAG, AR-supported quality control with Twyn is regarded as an internal flagship project. The experience is being shared across the group, and a wider rollout is already under consideration. “Twyn fits perfectly with our strategic realignment and our positioning as a system provider,” says Guido Duphorn.

Going forward, WISAG plans to integrate Twyn even more closely into its own workflows. By connecting it with the company’s digital inspection reports, for example, results could be transferred automatically between systems. WISAG also wants to move Twyn-based incoming goods inspection even further upstream in the process, enabling defects to be detected earlier and teams to respond faster.
As Visometry continues to enhance Twyn, WISAG users are also set to benefit from new AI capabilities.
For example, AI can be used as an additional tool to quickly and reliably verify the presence of components and features such as joining elements, automatically detecting and visually highlighting anything that is missing.
This significantly increases inspection speed while ensuring that users retain full control and responsibility throughout the inspection process. WISAG is already exploring how these capabilities could further enhance its use of Twyn.
