Visometry Awarded “Vision StartUp 2022”

Visometry got awarded as “Vision Start-up 2022” at the Vision trade fair in Stuttgart for its industrial augmented reality solutions.

From October 4-6, VISION 2022 took place in Stuttgart, Germany. As in previous years, we were also there and presented Twyn and VisionLib. Not only can we look back on a successful event, but are also very happy about the award as “Vision StartUp 2022”.

A total of 20 young companies presented themselves at Vision Startup World during Vision. As part of the daily Startup Pitch Sessions, usually a “Startup of the Day” is chosen in the first stage and an overall winner awarded in the second once the event ends. After first being awarded one of the titles “StartUp of the Day” again, we couldn’t be more excited to receive the overall title as “Vision Startup 2022”.

A great award that we are very pleased about. Vision has established itself internationally as the leading trade fair for machine vision and is presenting this renowned award for the 25th time.

We are excited that we were able to convince the expert jury with our Digital Twin approach for recognizing and tracking objects and parts based on their 3D CAD data. The format is also exciting: prior to the event, the trade fair already calls for applications and selects 20 companies from all the submissions, which then get the chance to pitch their ideas during the event. This year’s lineup was impressive. We would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the other startups who got awarded for their amazing work. And, of course, a big thank you to the Jury, #VISION (Messe Stuttgart) and #VDMA, who are organising this format for so long now.

Overall, we look back on an exciting show. With nice demonstrators, we showed the important role real-time object tracking plays for AR in various industrial application areas. Be it to support workers during assembly work on the shop floor. Or to make information more quickly accessible to service staff and field workers during the maintenance and inspection of complex machines: so-called model tracking enables companies, depending on the use case, to precisely place relevant data virtually on an object. Through AR, critical information can then be displayed directly in the field of vision and support workers.

The underlying technology behind VisionLib is also used by Twyn, our AR-enhanced solution for visual quality inspection, which enables an interactive target/actual comparison of components to their digital twin – on tablets, basically. CAD data of the components form the basis for the comparison. With just a few clicks, common inspections as well as step-based inspection plans can be implemented. Thanks to AR, deviations between target and actual become visible directly on the tablet. This way, tablets become digital and interactive inspection tools.

A solution that has not only convinced our customers and recently the VISION jury. At the beginning of the year, we already received the renowned InVision Award “Top Innovation 2022” (here our news about it) from the eponymous magazine for industrial image processing.

You can learn more about Twyn’s AR functions and application areas on our Twyn product page. There are many practical examples and also videos that show the use in quality assurance. In addition, Twyn can be tested for free via the trial version.
