Darmstadt. Delivering valuable mixed and augmented reality (AR) insights directly to real-world objects: Whenever this is needed in demanding industrial environments, VisionLib has been the go-to solution.
Now, Visometry has expanded its leading model-tracking technology with five innovative new capabilities. In particular, the new “Stationary Object” feature and the ability to easily reuse custom tracking references further enhance the benefits for users.
With VisionLib 4.0, Visometry has released the latest version of its cross-platform professional tracking library. Already the leading solution for companies aiming to deliver critical digital information to employees via mixed and augmented reality anchored to real-world objects, VisionLib is built to perform under difficult conditions: poor lighting, dynamic scenes, or with low-structured and moving objects. “VisionLib 4.0 delivers five more advantages for our users – on top of what they already know and trust. This strengthens our competitive edge even further,” says Dr. Harald Wuest, CEO of Visometry. For industrial users such as quality inspectors, VisionLib 4.0 introduces the following new features:
First, the new “Stationary Object” feature improves tracking stability, especially for large components. For this enhanced tracking of stationary objects, Visometry has linked SLAM-based camera positioning even more tightly with model-based tracking results. This is particularly helpful when only small sections of a model are visible in the camera image.
Second, VisionLib 4.0 makes creating tracking anchors as prefabs effortless: Developers can now generate a reference object (the tracking anchor) directly from the Unity context menu and export it as a predefined digital object (prefab). This makes it easy to set up tracking, manage it more efficiently, and reuse it across projects.

With version 4.0, Visometry adds five innovative features to VisionLib, its leading object tracking solution, making quality inspection faster and more precise.
Third, defining custom tracking parameters in Unity has become even simpler and more intuitive with VisionLib 4.0, speeding up development and reducing the risk of errors.
Fourth, improved parameter validation means that incorrectly typed parameters are no longer automatically converted, minimizing unexpected behavior and simplifying debugging. This ensures tracking configurations always behave exactly as intended.
Finally, VisionLib 4.0 continues to deliver streamlined user interfaces and APIs. With improved consistency and structure across components and functions, working with the software development kit (SDK) is now even easier. This makes development with VisionLib leaner and more user-friendly. Users can also be confident they are always working with the latest supported VisionLib interface.
